Gardening, Egg Gathering, Vendor Aprons Style Change

I’ve changed the design of the egg gathering apron. I am no longer making it with a 3rd fabric for the ties and with the slide adjustment for the neck tie.  All old style aprons are discounted and on sale at either my website Ready Made Aprons or my etsy store

The New style is made with the side channels and narrower ties that match the twill fabric.  The side channels allow for easy adjustment to fit you.  These aprons are not just egg gathering aprons they are great for gardening, vendor aprons, farmer market aprons and any other purpose that you could use lots of big pockets.  They can be found at either my website or my etsy store

Discontinuing some aprons styles

I am making drastic changes in my style catalog and so discontinuing some long time popular styles, sorry! the styles that are marked as discontinued on sale will not be available beyond what is currently listed and made.

Most of them are on sale so that I can clear out inventory.  This is a great time to pick up an apron for you or as a gift.  You can see them at my website http://www.timelessaprons.com or at my etsy shop https://www.etsy.com/shop/timelessaprons

General Musings!

First, my business has really taken off, that is when etsy stops messing with their site long enough so that people can find me.  Sales in August were  fantastic, than Sept 10th hit and etsy started making changes to the site and my sales died out for 2 weeks.  That could have been a natural cycle but I prefer blaming etsy, lol ....

If business keeps up this way and it should actually increase with the holidays, I probably wont be able to visit here often to post new and interesting things.    If you leave comments, I will be notified and I can reply if necessary.  If I am not able to come for a visit or post much, just know that I am around still and working hard on my aprons.

One of my apron styles isn't selling well, I am about ready to list more of them  and will try to continue listing new ones.

or Buy this apron now for $38.00 (Plus Size Apron Smock, Tan Calico with tiny Blue flowers - sized for 3X to 4X)

Frequently, I will put one of these on in the morning and wear it all day unless I am going to run errands or company arrives.  It is great because it is short enough not to interfere with any of my activities and it is perfect to keep cooking mishaps, food spills, dirt and dust from cleaning or dish water splatters from my clothes. So if I have to leave or someone drops in, I don't have to check my clothes over to see if they are clean enough to be seen in, I can just whisk off the apron and be confident that I am presentable.   Granted it isn't sexy but it isn't meant to be the type of apron that you are seen in, but it is meant to be a work horse apron. I also think it would be fantastic apron for the wheel chair bound person as it is only hip length.

It comes in all 3 sizes that I offer  M/L, XL/2X and 3X/4X

Let me know if you have any thoughts on why it isn't selling.  TIA

It is time for me to get back to my sewing or listing ... Hope you all are enjoying the beautiful Fall weather or Spring for those of you down under ;)  ....   Anita

The Little Black Apron

Hi all, I'm introducing a new apron style. This apron will be offered only on a custom order bases, No matter what your size.

The cross back straps are sewn to the ties with French lingerie seams and run through loops at the skirts waistline so they are adjustable for more comfort.

The ties are abt. 44" long,  for many they can be brought around to the front and tied.

All seams and edges are bound in bias tape to ensure a nice clean look even on the wrong side.

To find out more or to order this apron,

I can make this in a color other than black, I just don't have the supplies yet but if that would interest you please let me know here

New Styles!

I've been in a creative mood lately and so have been working on a few new designs of aprons, actually too many.  The first one is completed and as of today I've got a few listed, more will be added soon.  But of course I'm still designing more new aprons as ideas keep popping into my head ....

Here is a new cobbler apron design, this one is for the XL-2X size range. I've completed the pattern for the 3x-5x size, but haven't made the sample yet.   At this time I'm not planning on creating the smaller size pattern, but if I get enough requests for it, I will.

This one is based on a vintage 50's design, that I modified slightly as I've found that side ties or tabs aren't very well received and I thought the pocket should extend all of the way across the front.  Here is the original pattern cover.

No Tie All Day apron is now available in a smaller size!

In Early December '13 I introduced this style in both plus sizes and it was an immediate Big hit so I decide to offer it in Miss size as well.  This apron is Sized for M/L but may work out for a small too.

These are all made from heavy cotton fabric and there are a few more listed in my Etsy shop.  As soon as I can I will start offering this style in lighter weight cotton too.

Egg Gathering Apron, Updated

I have exciting news! I’ve created a full style, egg gathering apron and will be offering it in two sizes.

Med to Lg and XL to 2X. Here is a picture of the 2x version.

This style is really an all around utility apron, perfect for gathering produce from your garden, outdoor yard work or indoor cleaning.  The generous elastic topped, pleated pockets will hold a lot of stuff for you as you work. It is also a bit shorter than a normal kitchen apron, so that it will not interfere when you stoop down or bend over.  The main body of the apron is made from durable sportswear cotton twill and the pockets are lined cotton.

Back in Business ……

Yeaaaaaaaaa, my new sewing machine is on it’s way cross country to it’s new home … it should arrive near the end of the week .. I’m sooo excited I can’t stand it … lol

So in the mean time, I’ve been making new patterns and sewing the sample aprons .. I love sample aprons because I get to add them to my apron wardrobe … Every time I make a new pattern I usually have to make a sample apron to make sure it fits correctly and to figure out the best construction order and methods.. very few of the samples come out good enough to sell, so I get to keep them … there has been a few times that it has taken a couple of samples to get all of the kinks worked out, if a sample isn’t going well I either don’t finish it or tear it all apart and start over …

So, here are a couple that I worked up …. The first one I just LOVE .. LOVE … LOVE it and I hope you all do too … I did the pattern a little different in that I made the entire apron out of muslin and base stitches first, made adjustments and then made the pattern … so the first apron that I made out of pretty fabric turned out great and here it is .. I may list it, only because I have sooo many aprons, but then I really like it so we'll see .... ;)

I just can’t decide about this next apron… I thought I would really like to have an apron in this style to wear while doing housework .. but now that I’ve made one I’m not as sure ..

What do you guys think? Should I make another one to sell or not? do you like it? hate it? Your opinion matters to me, so tell me what you think ....
