Hi All, my apologize
for not posting in a very long time.
Last Holiday season was very brutal and
it has taken me awhile to recover my sewing momentum. For
the past year I have been trying to cut back on the amount of work but last
busy season was just about as hectic as past years. Because of this I am not going to be offering
any custom made to order aprons from Thanksgiving to Chris tmas. Any orders placed prior to Thanksgiving will
be completed in a timely fashion. I am
thinking about offering any aprons that have already been made as apposed to
just closing up the shop for a month, that it is still to be decided.
Welcome
Hello and Welcome. I specialize in custom made aprons that actually fit the plus size and full figured woman from sizes L to 5X. You can purchase my aprons either at my website www.timelessaprons.com or my etsy shop www.etsy.com/shops/timelessaprons

Another Year
Whew! I’ve gotten through another holiday season! It was good but exhausting. I was really happy to see that orders peaked
alot earlier this year and more people ordered in November so there weren’t so
many last minute orders.
I’ve been catching my
breath and relaxing as much as possible these past few weeks. I’ve also made some firm decisions about the
future of Timeless Aprons. I will keep
on making and selling aprons for at least a few more years, but I am cutting
back on what styles are being offered. I
currently have a lot of discontinued aprons that are on sale, when they are
gone, there won’t be any more of those styles made even by special order. You can see them at my website http://www.timelessaprons.com
or at my etsy shop https://www.etsy.com/shop/timelessaprons
I have decided to include my little smock at least for the time being and I am going to add a variation to it, too!
I’m also in the process of designing a gardening
apron, more about that later.

Gardening, Egg Gathering, Vendor Aprons Style Change
I’ve changed the design of the egg gathering apron. I am no longer making it with a 3rd fabric for the ties and with the slide adjustment for the neck tie. All old style aprons are discounted and on sale at either my website Ready Made Aprons or my etsy store
The New style is made with the side channels and narrower ties that match the twill fabric. The side channels allow for easy adjustment to fit you. These aprons are not just egg gathering aprons they are great for gardening, vendor aprons, farmer market aprons and any other purpose that you could use lots of big pockets. They can be found at either my website or my etsy store

Discontinuing some aprons styles
I am making drastic changes in my style catalog and so discontinuing some long time popular styles, sorry! the styles that are marked as discontinued on sale will not be available beyond what is currently listed and made.
Most of them are on sale so that I can clear out inventory. This is a great time to
pick up an apron for you or as a gift. You

Online Shopping .......
As a shopper, sometimes online shopping just drives me
crazy. I find something that I think I
really want, but there aren’t enough pictures to show all views or details and
the description leaves something to be desired.
This problem has given me
something to think about and wondering if I couldn’t do a better job of listing
my aprons online. One thing that I have realized
over the years is that the majority of shoppers don’t want to take the time to
read too much description or to look at a lot of pictures so I’ve always tried
to create a balance between those that want less information and those that
want more info. I figure it is better to
have too much information then not having enough.
Recently I started creating a picture for each style that shows
all of the different views and elements in a particular style. Above and below are examples of these
pictures. I’m adding them to each of the listings for that particular design. But the designs that I’m discontinuing will
not have them.
I'm doing the pictures in grayscale so hopefully they wont be mistaken for what someone is buying ...

The Future of TimelessAprons
As I’ve gotten closer to retirement, I’ve been
thinking about what to do with my business of TimelessAprons. I had thought that I would wait a few more
years but with business falling off so badly I think I will go the
semi-retired state and just scale back, a lot.
One of the ways I will be scaling back is that after the
beginning of next year I will be cutting down on what is available at my etsy
shop with the plan of eventually closing it. Even though I’m getting ready to
launch a shop with the new Handmade at Amazon it is not fully load nor will it
ever be. I will probably close it out completely by next spring or sooner.
I will keep my website up and open to
take custom requests and to sell off what I had to make for the pictures on etsy
and amazon. But once these Ready Mades
are gone that will be all of the ready made’s and only custom requests will be
available.
Please do not contact me asking to buy my patterns as they
are not and will not be for sale. I had
thought about getting them in shape to have patterns printed and then sell the
patterns, I may still look into it but if I decide to do that it will be at least
2 or 3 years before they are available. But once the patterns are available there is a good chance that I will cease making aprons all together and just sell the patterns.
As you all know, Life happens and things change so I can
only say that as of right now this is my plans for the future and if something
changes I will be sure to post it here.

Handmade at Amazon
After months of waiting, Amazon has finally allowed us Pioneer Sellers to get into our shops to start setting it up. No launch date yet!!!!!
But they have a Artisan Profile page that they want us to upload pictures of our Shops, ha!!! so for awhile I had been trying to figure out what to put up as how exciting is a picture of my back at a sewing machine? ... lol ... I finally hit upon using some of my design sketches and came up with a picture that I really, really like! but then I got to thinking about changing my banner from pictures of vintage aprons to using my sketches as I think that might represent what I do, better. So here is a sample banner that I came up with:
So I would rally like to get some opinions. Should I use this type of banner for Amazon? if yes, should I change all of my sites to a similar banner. I have 3 selling sites, this blog and facebook all different sizes required so it is somewhat of a work out. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Where did the summer go????
OK, I am in snow country where the summers are hot and the winters are cold ... so 70 degrees in Aug? lows in the 50's? unheard of! And my garden had been doing soooo nicely and I was looking forward to lots of great stuff still to come, with 4 to 6 weeks yet of hot weather .... I may have to start planning on having the same length of growing season as Alaska if this keeps up. I actually love the cooler temps but I also love to have a great veggie garden, oh well, not a thing I can do about it!
So this month has been crazy busy with gardening, canning and sewing aprons. Good news is that Black and white Houndstooth twill is back in stock.
To Order this apron, please click here it never lasts for very long so if you want this apron, you need to order it while you can... :)

Update on the Egg Gathering Apron
If you look back in my posts to 2010, you will find that I introduced a half apron for gathering eggs. This apron was designed for a friend her had gotten a couple of new chickens. Two years later, I was approached by a national chicken feed company to provide them with a whole bunch of these aprons for a promotion they were doing. During the course of our conversations they asked me about a full apron style. So that is how the full apron for egg gathering came about.
The apron that I created for them was very similar to this one, but instead of ties behind the neck I used the slide adjustment that you will find on my current aprons.
The apron that I created for them was very similar to this one, but instead of ties behind the neck I used the slide adjustment that you will find on my current aprons.
So over the past couple of years I've continued to offer this style in a bit larger size and in different fabrics, it has never been hugely popular but I've sold a few a year. This is the main reason that I've never offered it in a lot of variety.
The pockets are great for all kinds of harvesting, not just for eggs. I also use one for gardening.
I've been thinking about updating it and offering it in a Crossback style too, similar to my chef's apron with the crossback straps. So with all of the interest I whipped one up
it is also available in Navy or Red, too ... you can order it here https://www.etsy.com/listing/173709721/egg-gathering-apron-crossback-black-with?ref=shop_home_active_2
The straps are actually convertible as I put the loop at the end of the strap and not on the apron, that way if you want to pull the straps through at the waist you can tie it behind your neck and at the waist . I will post a picture of that option.
If you are interested in one of these aprons (I can make them in a smaller size), you can order it through my website www.timelessaprons.com or from my etsy shop at

NEW! Gardening Smock or Artist Smock
I have been enjoying a very early spring here on the plains and have been experimenting with a couple of different styles of gardening aprons as I prepare and start planting my gardens. One hasn't worked out too well, yet but this little smock has been wonderful to wear as the pockets hold everything that I need to have with me as I work outside.
This one is made out of 6.5 light blue denim. The pocket is lined with the same fabric and the dividing stitches are reinforced at the top and the bottom hem is bound. The straps are adjustable for about 6" so that you can position the top where it will work the best for you. This smock is very generously cut so please do not order a size too large, the way we all do from time to time.
To order this apron in any fabric or combination of fabric please visit my website www.timelessaprons.com or go directly to the listing at http://www.timelessaprons.com/custom-aprons/198-custom-smock.html

New Website
I'm experiencing issues with the various hosting services that I've tried out. The first one turned out to be just too difficult to get everything on the site that I needed so I switched to another one that was just difficult to work with, it so now I'm trying a 3rd one. In the meantime the site is pretty much down, but it will be back up and better then ever as soon as I can get this hosting situation worked out ....
