What has been going on?

Hi everyone, well I am no longer working outside of the home. I suspect I will eventually get a part time job though, but in the meantime I am finally able to devote most of my energies to my apron business. As a result I've introduced a few new styles and will be working on a few more that I've had ideas about. One of the most exciting ones that I would like to tell you about is my New Maternity apron, It is before, during and after, nice and roomy and comfortable, with a short half back.

I've also reactived what was really my first Etsy store. CottageCreations, where I sell vintage stuff, mostly linens and also I upcycle damaged vintage linens into new and fresh useful items. Lately, I've been on a sustainable kick so making products to help people out in living a more sustainable life. My grocery bags have been very popular and over time I will be offering more products.

I always have a ton of useable scraps left over from my aprons and I hate just throwing them out so I've been saving them and finally came up with a project that will use them up, bowl and baking pan covers!!!! I use a set of the baking pan covers all of the time and they really work well in keeping my baked goods fresh for days. Soooo much easier then plastic wrap or tin foil. Love them!!!

You can find both the covers and the bags at CottageCreations. Along with some vintage aprons!

I hope to be posting a bit more often then once a year and I would really like to hear from you! Please feel free to post comments on this site and I will respond if appropriate.

It’s a New Year ...

Gosh I can’t believe it’s been such a long time since I posted here. I am so sorry about that my new year’s resolution is to post more often. Ya right! … Seriously though, I will try. I have some wonderful ideas on actual informational worthy posts that I think you will enjoy reading.

In January of 2011 I started back to work full time for the same company and same position that I was laid off of in January 2010. Now that it is a year later, I am waiting to see if they lay me off again … Unfortunately I had to work some very long hours for several months just to try and get things running smoothly again. Not sure how well that will work out since we are now that we are in the slow time of year, but I have hopes that I won’t have to go back to those long days and weeks again.

So in the meantime, I’ve been sewing up a storm and have a lot of new listings. I will be posting more new aprons in my etsy shop very soon.

I’ve also expanded to include the entire family. Read my 2011 Fashion in Review page for the new “Nancy and Gracie” aprons.

I will be added Chubby Children sizes of aprons too …

I sincerely hope that all you and yours have a Safe and Happy New Year!

I'm still around ....

Just wanted to let you know that I am still around .. My day job has been interferring too much with my fun time, but I have been sewing when ever I can and I have almost a doz new, fun and pretty aprons to list... the other problem is that there has been NO sun at all so that I can take decent pictures .. lol ...

Luckily the day job will be slowing down very soon and I can spend some quality time in my sewing room .. I snuck out today and bought some more fabric, it is just the prestest springy fabric and will be so much fun to sew into aprons.

I was playing around about a week ago and decided to make an asymmetrical apron, perhaps I was just feeling in a cockeyed mood that day .. hehehe .. here it is

and if you look carefully in the background you can see one shelving unit full of my fabric that is just waiting to be made up into aprons...
